Beginning 2013, the majority of Tremco product orders will be expedited from a new 300,000-square-foot consolidated distribution center located at 23555 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland,Ohio. This state-of-the-art distribution hub will eliminate cross-docking in theU.S., thereby improving service and efficiency of the company’s operations. The new facility will be fully operational by the end of January, when the consolidation of product from Mameco and cross-docked product from Toronto is completed.
The latest technology will be utilized in the consolidated facility to follow customer orders from receipt to shipment. In addition to a new warehouse management system, handheld radio frequency scanning devices will facilitate order control and inventory accuracy by allowing orders to be read electronically, the inventory location to be identified and providing acknowledgement when an order is complete. These updates to Tremco’s Enterprise Resource Planning system will also ultimately result in reduced order processing times.
The Consolidated Distribution Center will operate from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday Eastern Standard time to accommodate orders from the Mountain and Pacific Time zones.
