All of our tests passed or exceeded the basic requirements. The air leakage test (ASTM E283), was measured at 0.009 cfm/ft² @75 Pa (25 mph, 1.57 psf), which far exceeds the stringent specified values of performance in ASHRAE 90.1 (same for ABAA and IECC code), which specifies a maximum leakage rate of 0.04 cfm/ft² (0.2L/s*M²) @75 Pa. This indicates that our assembly performed 4 times better than the performance spec -- exceptional performance for an air leakage test but typical for what we see with the Tremco fluid applied membranes and composite sheet flashings.
The water leakage test (ASTM E331) passed at 137 Pa for 15 minutes, easily meeting the industry standard for water leakage. The assembly went on to pass the IBC 1403.2 standard for weather resistive barriers at 300 Pa (50 mph, 6.27 psf) for 2 hours. This confirms that Tremco CS&W offers proven, tested connections of our materials at critical tie-in points and ensures that two systems can work together to provide a solid, protected seal.
