product offerings, job references, and more.
Specifications today call for metal framing to virtually disappear, providing clean and minimal
sight lines. LEED calls for the utilization of natural light and outdoor views, while reducing
reliance on heating and cooling systems. Architects are designing structures with increasingly
larger, more dramatic window units. Building codes are requiring protection against manmade and natural disasters.
What once seemed a tremendous challenge has now become an everyday expectation due in large part to the high performance silicone sealants and structural glazing systems available today.

Effectiveness under these demanding requirements, however, depends on a structural glazing system
designed and tested as complete and unified assemblies to ensure optimal performance. The system,
comprised of glazing sealants, gaskets, tapes, spacers and blocks, must be totally compatible.
Certain glazing gaskets and spacers have proven to be chemically incompatible and may cause a loss
of silicone adhesion to the glass and metal surfaces. Staining may also occur. The system’s
adhesion, weatherability and durability over the long-term depends on all products being compatible
throughout their productive life.

For more than 75 years, Tremco has been a market leader in the design, development and manufacture of glazing products for use in commercial curtainwall and window applications.
Having been a leader in the development and manufacture of silicones, polyurethanes, acrylics,
latexes, thermoplastics and butyls, Tremco can provide anything a window manufacturer may require
within their system. Over the years, more than 12,000 custom rubber extrusions have been developed.
Tremco can also provide compatible perimeter caulking and weatherproofing to complete the window
or wall system.
