In September, the Chicago Bears moved back to a new state-of-the-art Soldier Field. The new modern look of the stadium incorporates a traditional metal pan decking in the new concourse surrounding the field, which presented a dilemma when it came to waterproofing.

Several coating systems are available, but not all manufacturers would warrant their products on non-vented metal decks. One of the options was to drill holes in the deck, but due to time constraints and added costs this was not a good option. For the architect, the decision came down to warranty and Tremco would take full responsibility for its products used on a non-vented metal pan deck and Vulkem 350/345/346 was the solution.
